"We are so glad we found you and your Olde Settlement Poppy Seed Dressing at the Best of Missouri Market a couple of years ago. We bought our first bottle there and followed your recipe for the Olde Settlement Slaw. The next time we made it, we modified the recipe a bit to add sweetened dried cranberries instead of the Ramen noodles, and we changed some amounts of other ingredients to our taste.

That's what so great about the recipe, it's easily modified to come up with multiple delicious versions -- what a crisp, refreshing, healthy slaw! What really makes it great is the Olde Settlement Poppy Seed Dressing, which is also good on a regular salad. After the Missouri market, we found the dressing at a market in St. Charles, but that's a fairly good drive for us. So we bought several bottles on line. And now, thanks to your letting me know, we've also found it at Dierbergs, where we shop every week! Our friends and relatives have all enjoyed the slaw as well when we bring it to gatherings."

"After eating the strawberry salad with Olde Settlement Poppy Seed Dressing at the Valle School Auction, I loved it so much I had to have it for my 50th Wedding Anniversary party. Everyone just loved it."

"I was so excited to hear that Brenda bottled her dressing. It is so good that I was having her make it up for me it seemed just about every month or two. I use it as a marinade, on salads, to cook with. This is the best dressing that my family has ever had."

"I marinade just about anything I am going to grill in it. I have added it to stir fry, I put it on veggies that I grill. It turns out great. I really do not measure how much I add. I just add it."

"I first tried Brenda Basler's Olde Settlement Poppyseed Dressing in 1997 at the Dew Drop Inn (Bloomsdale, MO). I was a little skeptical at first, with it being green, but once I tried it, it quickly became my favorite salad dressing, and I ate at the Dew Drop Inn quite frequently because of it. As the years passed, I got to know Brenda much better (through working with her) and had the opportunity to enjoy her salad dressing at work, as well as at the Dew Drop Inn. In that time I also had the opportunity to see Brenda's dressing become more popular in our community and hear the many people that encouraged her to bottle and market this wonderful 'creation' of hers. And I, for one, am so glad that she did. We are all able to enjoy her 'secret recipe' at many restaurants in the Ste. Genevieve area, as well as at home. And, based on my own preference and the great reviews I've heard from many others in our community, I feel I can say that this salad dressing truly is "one-of-a-kind."

"A couple of years ago I ordered a chicken salad from the Dew Drop Inn and the girl taking the order asked if I wanted to try the new poppyseed dressing on it. I did and it was fantastic. I started to order it everyday. I probably have it two and three times a week. I have never had anything like it. Now that I can buy it I can share it with my family and friends, and have it anytime I want. Not only for lunch but I can have it at supper on my salad. I've always known Brenda was a great cook, but know the everyone can try her creations."
